About Kindergarten

At CMCS, we offer a full-day, academically challenging Kindergarten program. Our Christian curriculum is Biblically based. In addition to a daily Bible curriculum, we join all elementary students for the weekly virtual chapel. Using the Bob Jones Phonics program, students begin blending sounds to read short vowel words by the third week of school. The comprehensive math program introduces skills such as number sense to 100, telling time, shapes, and addition and subtraction. Kindergarten students also get to participate in weekly enrichment classes including PE, music, technology, art, and library. Each kindergarten class has a full-time teacher and at least one full-time aide. This helps lower the teacher-to-student ratio. Our goal is to create a fun learning environment to give your kindergartener a successful educational experience, while preparing them for first grade.

See What We've Been Learning!

100 Days of School!

The 100the day of school in Kindergarten is like no other day!  The students describe this as their favorite day!  Some of the activities include making 100 Day crowns, stringing 100-day necklaces, doing 100 exercises, drawing 100-day drawings, sorting and eating 100-day snacks, stacking 100 cups, and popping 100 balloons.  What's not to like about this day?

Plant Project

In Kindergarten, students engage in a variety of projects that provide them with fun, hands-on learning. For this particular project, students learned about plants and created art to demonstrate what they had learned!

Morning Calendar & Math Meeting

Students take turns in leading the class in math meeting, calendar, and weather. This is a time of counting and recording the days in school, updating the calendar and weather chart, and pointing out what we will be learning that day.

Reading Groups

Students practice their word families and sight words by reading new weekly readers and phonics stories in a small group setting. This is a time of practicing oral reading skills and reading comprehension.

Rooted in Jesus!

In response to learning about God and His marvelous creation, the students have offered their thoughts on how they can be rooted in Jesus.

Kinder Classrooms

Our kinder classrooms are fun! Each morning, our students are welcomed into fun, inviting classrooms that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but are full of students' hard work. Our teachers love showing off student projects and highlighting current learning themes.

Miss Marjorie

Miss Marjorie has been serving at Calvary since 1996. What a treasure she is to us! She received her Early Childhood Education Certificate from Saddleback College and has a Bachelor of Arts from Ashford University. She has taught junior kindergarten and kindergarten and is clearly a gifted teacher. One of the things we admire about Miss Marjorie is her love of learning. She dives into new technology when it is presented and enjoys continually challenging herself.

Miss Tiffany

Miss Tiffany has a Bachelor of Science in Child and Adolescent Development and has been serving at Calvary since 2018. Miss Tiffany is also an alumni of our school! Tiffany is a young, energetic teacher who connects well with her students. She loves planning lessons that engage students and foster an excitement for learning.
