Heart of CMCS Junior High
It is the heart of CMCS to teach the whole student; instruct in God’s love, foster healthy peer friendships, cultivate desire to be a life-long learner and provide opportunities to explore enrichments such as arts, music, and athletics. Our teachers and staff guide students with love and kindness as they guide their growth into the young men and women God has created them to be.
Academics
In addition to learning the core subjects of Bible, English, Math, Science and History our students also have the opportunity to take elective classes: art, technology, PE, music, photography, and ASB. Each year, students have the opportunity to participate in camp, pep rallies, and spiritual emphasis days. Our hope is to provide students with opportunities to explore their giftedness, so that each individual discovers and develops their God-given talents.
Biblical Emphasis
Instilling a passion for Jesus into the hearts of students is our primary endeavor. Students are immersed in God's word daily as they walk through the stories of the Old & New Testaments. They are encouraged to have a Bible at school so that they can learn to read God's truth for themselves. Students also participate in daily Koinonia Groups as they dive into God's word and prayer through small groups led by our Junior High staff. Weekly chapels (Square One) are held on Monday mornings. Students participate in worship and hear from guests as they share God's love and truth from His word. A few times a year, students get to participate in Spiritual Emphasis Days. These days are designed to provide opportunities for fun and fellowship while also giving students a chance to hear more Biblical truths from God's word.
Extra-Curriculars
Junior High students at CMCS have the opportunity to participate in a variety of fun, engaging activities. Students can play on various school sports teams like soccer, basketball, baseball, football, softball, and cheer. Each quarter, students also can attend different events planned by Junior High ASB. Over the years, students have gone to Mulligans, Pins n Pockets for bowling and laser tag, hosted nerf battles, and even had snowball fights! Additionally, our students are invited to serve God and His people in our community. Past outreaches include serving at the Lake Elsinore Dream Center and San Diego Rescue Mission. It is such a blessing seeing these young students following Jesus and serving their community.
