ELEMENTARY

Heart of CMCS Elementary

It is the heart of CMCS to teach the whole child; instruct in God’s love,  foster healthy peer friendships, cultivate desire to be a life-long learner and provide opportunities to explore enrichments such as arts, music, and athletics. Our teachers shepherd students with love and kindness as they guide their growth into the young men and women God has created them to be.

Academics

In addition to learning the core subjects of Bible, math, reading, English, writing, history, and science, our students also attend weekly enrichment classes: art, technology, PE, library, music, and science center (bi-weekly). Each year, students have the opportunity to participate in various ACSI events such as Speech Meet, Spelling Bee, Math Olympics, and Band and Choir Festivals. Throughout the year, students have the opportunity to participate in field trips that supplement core content curriculum. 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students attend overnight field trips that correspond to the content they learn in history and science. Our hope is to provide students with opportunities to explore their giftedness, so that each individual discovers and develops their God-given talents.

Biblical Emphasis

Instilling a passion for Jesus into the hearts of students is our primary endeavor. Students are taught daily Bible lessons as they walk through the stories of the Old & New Testaments. Students are encouraged to have a Bible at school so that they can learn to read God's truth for themselves. Each grade level has a list of Bible verses that corresponds to the Biblical truths students are learning. Each week, students are tasked with memorizing the corresponding scripture as they are taught the value of hiding God's word in their hearts. Weekly chapels are held on Wednesday mornings. Students hear from guests or one another (performed class chapels) as they share God's love and truth from His word.
