2nd Grade

About 2nd Grade

Second grade is definitely the place to be!  In second grade, we explore the world God has created through science where we study vertebrates, invertebrates, habitats, and so much more! We also enjoy exploring our nation’s history starting with pilgrims and going forward to the Revolutionary War. We love learning all about the colonies! In math, we learn double and triple-digit addition and subtraction.  We also dive into multiplication. As we study all these areas, we are learning how God designed all of them to work together in His perfect creation. We go on several field trips during second grade including the San Diego Safari Park and Riley’s Farm! These trips perfectly show God’s hand in our world.

Mrs. thorpe

Summer Thorpe is a Calvary alumni who is excited to be back at CMCS--now as a teacher! She received a Bachelor of Arts in Educational Studies from Western Governors University. Mrs. Thorpe loves connecting with her students and creating a warm, engaging classroom environment. In her spare time, she loves celebrating the creative arts, whether that be painting her own masterpiece or admiring the walls of a museum. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on her students’ lives!
