Brian Bell

Brian Bell is the main teaching Pastor, Chairman of the Church Board, Chairman of the School Board, and shepherd of Calvary Murrieta. He started CMCS almost 30 years ago and has continued to provide leadership for the school after his two children became CMCS graduates. Brian fell in love with his high school sweetheart, dated for five years, and has been married now for thirty-seven wonderful years. He has two adult children and four grandchildren. What really warms his heart is playing with his grandchildren. What fuels him physically is surfing and hiking. What moves his soul is getting to think, strategize, pray for, and visit our unreached people groups.

Larry Hansen

Larry Hansen is the Missions Pastor at Calvary Murrieta and a member of both the Church Board and the CMCS Board. He combines education, first-hand experience, and missions partnerships to continue to move forward in reaching the unreached. Larry brings a strong focus of being a continuous learner and listener so that he can best serve in the role he has been called. Larry enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife, Donna, and together they have two children, Landi and Paul.

Andrew Lacasse

Andrew Lacasse attended CMCS from 1996-2004 and is a member of the church and school board. He previously taught junior high Bible and currently serves as Assistant Pastor for Adult Ministries and Education. Andrew enjoys reading and spending time with his wife and daughter. 

Esteban Lizarraga

Esteban Lizarraga is the Director of K-12 in Education Services at Val Verde Unified School District and a CMCS board member. He has extensive experience in education, including teaching and administration. Esteban obtained his Bachelor of Arts, teaching credential, and Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership. He is blessed to be married to his amazing wife, Jacquelyn, and a father to four wonderful children, two of whom attend CMCS. Esteban is honored to be a part of the learning community at Calvary Murrieta Christian Schools that educates, equip, and disciples students.

Christy Hartman

Christy Hartman serves as an assistant principal at a local charter school and is a member of the CMCS Board. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies, a teaching credential, an Administrative Services credential, and a Master's degree in Education. She served as principal at CMCS for three years. Christy has been married to her husband, Derrick, for over 20 years, and they are the proud parents of two daughters—one of whom attended CMCS during her junior high years. Their family attends Calvary Murrieta church. She is deeply committed to the mission of educating, equipping, and discipling students.

Administration Team

Bill Olien

Head of School

Bill Olien brings nearly three decades of experience in school operations, with specialized expertise in budgeting, fiscal management, facilities, capital projects, and technology. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science in Management Science, along with additional coursework in school business administration. He has attended Calvary Murrieta for over 30 years. Outside of his professional role, he enjoys reading, listening to music, and traveling. One of his favorite Bible passages is Romans 8:38-39.

Kendra Watson 

K-8th Principal

Kendra Watson brings over 30 years of experience working with children from birth through high school, including 8 years of teaching in Kindergarten, 5th grade, and 6th grade. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Social Behavior from the University of California, Irvine, with a special focus on early childhood development. Mrs. Watson is passionate about partnering with teachers and families to uphold and advance the mission of CMCS. Outside school, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three college-aged children.

Jen Helton

Junior High Assistant Principal

Jennifer Helton earned her degree from California Baptist University and has a deep love of Christian education. She enjoys working with students of all ages but especially loves the energy and growth that characterize the junior high years. Her greatest desire is for every student to know and love the Lord, and to experience that love through the care and dedication of the teachers and staff at CMCS.  Outside the school, Mrs. Helton enjoys reading, hiking, eating Mexican food, and spending quality time with her husband and their three teenagers. 

Andrea Ward 

K-6th Assistant Principal

Andrea Ward has been an educator for 19 years and is passionate about supporting students, teachers, and families. She earned her B.A. in Liberal Studies from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and her M.A. in Educational Administration from Concordia University Irvine. Andrea holds a California Single-Subject Teaching Credential in English Language Arts as well as a California Administrative Services Credential. Over the years, she has taught a range of grade levels and served in leadership roles, including Grade Level Coordinator, Instructional Coach, and WASC Site Coordinator. Andrea is excited to serve the K–6 community and is committed to fostering a safe, Christ-centered environment where students can grow both academically and spiritually.
