Brian Bell

Brian Bell is the main teaching Pastor, Chairman of the Church Board, Chairman of the School Board, and shepherd of Calvary Murrieta. Brian started CMCS almost 30 years ago and has continued to provide leadership for the school after his two children became CMCS graduates. Brian fell in love with his high school sweetheart, dated for five years, and has been married now for thirty-seven wonderful years. He has two adult children and four grandchildren. What really warms his heart is playing with his grandchildren. What fuels him physically is surfing and hiking. What moves his soul is getting to think, strategize, pray for, and visit our unreached people groups.

Jennifer Bursch 

Jen Bursch is an attorney and business owner of Tyler & Bursch, LLP. She manages CMCS’ finances and is a member of both the Church Board and the CMCS Board. Jen and her husband, Jordan, are parents to two CMCS students. Jen has obtained her Bachelor of Arts from Gordon University and obtained both her Juris Doctorate and Master of Public Policy from Pepperdine University. Her life and heart are filled with her dual passions of being a mom and a life-long learner.

Larry Hansen

Larry Hansen is the Missions Pastor at Calvary Murrieta and a member of both the Church Board and the CMCS Board. Larry combines education, first-hand experience, and missions partnerships to continue to move forward in reaching the unreached. Larry brings a strong focus of being a continuous learner and listener so that he can best serve in the role he has been called. Larry enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife, Donna, and together they have two children, Landi and Paul.

Esteban Lizarraga

Esteban Lizarraga is the Director of K-12 in Education Services at Val Verde Unified School District and a CMCS board member. Esteban has extensive experience in education, including teaching and administration. Esteban obtained his Bachelor of Arts, teaching credential, and Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership. He is blessed to be married to his amazing wife, Jacquelyn, and a father to four wonderful children, two of whom attend CMCS. Esteban is honored to be a part of the learning community at Calvary Murrieta Christian Schools that educates, equip, and disciples students.

Administration Team

Christy Hartman

K-8th Principal

Christy Hartman has been an educator for 17 years at local public, charter, and private schools. She has experience teaching kindergarten through 12th grade and spent many years homeschooling her own children. Christy has a Masters of Science in Education along with a single subject (English) and multiple subject teaching credential. She also holds an administrative services credential. Christy has been married for 17 years and has two teenage daughters, one of whom attends Calvary. She is passionate about reaching all types of learners and excited to use her leadership skills to serve the Lord and our school community.

Janelle Williams

K-8th Assistant Principal

Janelle Williams is a CMCS alumni and has been a part of the Calvary staff since 2001. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ashford University. Janelle is an exceptional teacher who has taught junior kindergarten, kindergarten, first grade, and third grade. She brings years of valuable teaching experience to the administrative team and is excited to use her experience and leadership skills to support our teachers and students toward academic success.

Melissa Chesney

K-8th Assistant Principal

Melissa Chesney is also a Calvary alumni. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English from California Baptist University.  Over the 8 years she has been working at Calvary, she has been an elementary PE teacher, high school English and Bible teacher, guidance counselor, and junior high English teacher. Melissa is passionate about discipleship and mentoring students toward a deeper relationship with Christ and is excited to help students grow academically and spiritually.

Mical Andrews

Instructional Coach

Mical Andrews is a CMCS alumni and has been working at CMCS for the last 11 years. She has taught 2nd and 4th grades and was the Elementary Principal and Assistant Principal. Mrs. Andrews has a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies, a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and a Masters of Science in Education all from Cal Baptist University. Mrs. Andrews is excited to assist our teachers as an instructional coach. She has a heart for watching students succeed and instilling godly principles into their everyday lives.
