Brian Bell is the main teaching Pastor, Chairman of the Church Board, Chairman of the School Board, and shepherd of Calvary Murrieta. Brian started CMCS almost 30 years ago and has continued to provide leadership for the school after his two children became CMCS graduates. Brian fell in love with his high school sweetheart, dated for five years, and has been married now for thirty-seven wonderful years. He has two adult children and four grandchildren. What really warms his heart is playing with his grandchildren. What fuels him physically is surfing and hiking. What moves his soul is getting to think, strategize, pray for, and visit our unreached people groups.
Jen Bursch is an attorney and business owner of Tyler & Bursch, LLP. She manages CMCS’ finances and is a member of both the Church Board and the CMCS Board. Jen and her husband, Jordan, are parents to two CMCS students. Jen has obtained her Bachelor of Arts from Gordon University and obtained both her Juris Doctorate and Master of Public Policy from Pepperdine University. Her life and heart are filled with her dual passions of being a mom and a life-long learner.
Larry Hansen is the Missions Pastor at Calvary Murrieta and a member of both the Church Board and the CMCS Board. Larry combines education, first-hand experience, and missions partnerships to continue to move forward in reaching the unreached. Larry brings a strong focus of being a continuous learner and listener so that he can best serve in the role he has been called. Larry enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife, Donna, and together they have two children, Landi and Paul.
Esteban Lizarraga is the Director of K-12 in Education Services at Val Verde Unified School District and a CMCS board member. Esteban has extensive experience in education, including teaching and administration. Esteban obtained his Bachelor of Arts, teaching credential, and Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership. He is blessed to be married to his amazing wife, Jacquelyn and a father to three wonderful sons who attend CMCS. Esteban is honored to be a part of the learning community at Calvary Murrieta Christian Schools that educates, equip, and disciples students.
Jim Bellmeyer is in his second year of serving as Principal of CMCS. He taught junior high and high school Pre-Algebra and Algebra at CMCS, during the 2018/2019 school year. Jim Bellmeyer retired as a Special Agent from the State of California after 28 years in law enforcement. Jim served as the supervisor of the Southeast Fugitive Apprehension team. He has worked with both the FBI and US Marshals on multiagency task force operations to locate and apprehend violent fugitives. Jim has a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership from Biola University. The safety and security of CMCS students and staff are his top priorities, only second to shining God’s light to the entire Calvary family.
K-8th Assistant Principal
Mical Andrews is a CMCS alumni. She has been working at CMCS for the last 10 years. She has taught 2nd and 4th grades and was the Elementary Principal for 3 years until recently, when she became a mom! Mrs. Andrews has a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies, a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and a Masters of Science in Education all from Cal Baptist University. Mrs. Andrews oversees curriculum development and the day-to-day campus operations. She has a heart for watching students succeed and instilling godly principles into their everyday lives.
K-8th Assistant Principal
Christy Hartman has been an educator for 16 years at local public and charter schools. She has experience teaching kindergarten through 12th grade and spent many years homeschooling her own children. Christy has a Masters of Science in Education along with a single subject (English) and multiple subject teaching credential. This year she will finish earning her administrative services credential. Christy has been married for 17 years and has two teenage daughters, one of whom attends Calvary. She is passionate about reaching all types of learners and excited to use her leadership skills to serve the Lord.
Junior High Assistant Principal
Melissa Chesney is a Calvary alumni who is thrilled to be working at her "second home." Over the 7 years she has been working at Calvary, she has been a high school English and Bible teacher, guidance counselor, and junior high English teacher. This is her second year serving as the Junior High Assistant Principal. Miss Chesney has a Bachelor of Arts in English from California Baptist University. She oversees junior high academics and the junior high program. Miss Chesney is passionate about discipleship and mentoring students toward a deeper relationship with Christ.
