4th Grade

About 4th Grade

Fourth grade is all about our beautiful, golden state! From studying the life of the Native Americans to the start of the California Missions, the Gold Rush to the Transcontinental Railroad- we cover it all! We also study science topics such as energy and heat, motion and force, matter and its uses, the lithosphere, the cardiovascular system and the digestive system.

In Bible, we study the attributes of God, His faithfulness, His love, practicing contentment, and more. In math, we work with fractions, long multiplication, long division, graphing, basic geometry, and more! In writing, we practice poetry, creative writing, and learn how to write multiple paragraph essays using the Step Up to Writing format. We cover many grammatical concepts in English as well, and practice our reading, writing and spelling skills daily.

Fourth grade field trips include Mission San Juan Capistrano, Walk Through California (an engaging and interactive educational on-campus presentation with friendly competition and lively retelling of history curriculum), and our overnight By the Great Horn Spoon! trip to Ocean Institute in Dana Point and Lazy W. Ranch Camp in San Juan Capistrano.

Morgan Garrison is so happy to be a part of the Warrior teaching family. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Ashford University, her Masters in Teaching from Point Loma Nazarene University, and her California teaching credential. She has previously taught transitional kindergarten, second grade, and is looking forward to fourth grade this year! She is excited by the opportunity to integrate her Christian faith in her classroom and get to know, encourage, and teach her students!

MRs. sebastian

Rebecca Sebastian is a wonderful addition to the CMCS teaching team. She is a Calvary alumnus, and she received a Bachelor of Arts in Education and is working on her California teaching credential from Western Governors University. She has experience teaching in virtual, hybrid, and traditional environments, in addition to being a homeschool instructor. Mrs. Sebastian also loves music and is an accomplished flautist. She is a big team-player and has a huge heart for our Calvary values. We are so excited to have her on our team!
