Calvary Murrieta Junior High School's Show Choir
Miss Chelsea Rodgers graduated from Calvary Murrieta Christian High School in 2008 and went on to pursue her dreams of being a teacher at California Baptist University. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies degree from CBU in May of 2012. At age five she began performing, and has performed in over 20 shows since. Along with performing theatrically, she has been a part of multiple choirs over the last eight years and has travelled both locally and nationally spreading the joy of the Lord through music. Her life verse is Psalm 73:26 “Though my flesh and my heart may fail, the Lord is the strength of my life and my portion forever.”
Show Choir Course Description
Show Choir is a mixed ensemble that combines the movement of dance and singing to perform literature from various selected eras of musical history. Through this course, students will develop greater musicianship, proper use of breath support, phrasing, interpretation, postures, stage presence, and the other important musical disciplines. In this class students will study and perform vocal music in the Jazz, Pop, and Swing styles. Students will learn the art of movement and dance as well as the enhancement of the vocal rendition of various works. Show Choir is appropriate for all abilities and is a fantastic way to step into the art of music!
