Welcome to the CMCS Guidance and Counseling Center

The main goal of the counseling services at Calvary Murrieta Christian School is to assist and guide students in their educational, career, social and spiritual needs. We have a comprehensive program for every student in addressing their individual academic needs. All students have equal access to guidance services and opportunities with an emphasis on educational development and career planning. These services will result in the development of a four-year educational plan that identifies educational and career choices. Each year, the students’ individual four year plans are reviewed with a counselor and appropriate educational adjustments and or plans are made to ensure future success in areas of interest. Our office is open from 7:30am until 3:45pm. Individual student or parent/student appointments can be made by calling Rose Dowell at 951-834-9190 (ext. 1180).
Parent/Student Counseling in College Planning
Due to extensive responsibilities with students, parents must call and make an appointment in advance to meet with Mr. Kitabjian or Mr. Kelly when the need arises. Mr. Paul Kelly is a retired counselor with over 40 years of experience as a high school counselor in Orange County. We appreciate this godly man coming in on a part-time/volunteer basis to assist us in the guidance department. Availability for counseling is determined by individual counseling activities and/or workshops scheduled throughout the year. We will make every attempt to accommodate parents’ work and students’ schedules when scheduling the appointment.
Student On-Campus Tutoring
CMCS offers tutoring services through the National Honor Society and from various faculty members. All of the peer tutoring is free as part of the students’ Community Service. There may be a minimal charge when a faculty member is tutoring for an extensive amount of time late into theday. The parent must then work directly with the teacher(s) in setting up the schedule and payments. Students can request help on an as-needed basis. To request tutoring, please contact Rose Dowell in the Guidance Office or email her at rdowell@calvarymurrieta.com and state your name, subject/teacher, availability, and contact information.
Career Counseling
All students are guided through a four-year career development plan that addresses the scope of the school to career transition. We give the students a number of opportunities to increase their awareness of their own gifts, interests, and strengths as they developtheir abilities and apply it toward their vocational interests.
International Student Program
Calvary Murrieta Christian School welcomes all students from diverse countries. Study abroad is an exciting and broadening experience that enriches any educational curriculum. Our mission is to offer and direct the knowledge international students need to become influential global Christian leaders, equipped to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. Calvary Murrieta Christian School’s core curriculum and quality faculty are well approved to help our graduated international students reach their intended universities successfully. Mrs. Do Hee Lee, who heads up this program, can be reached at 951-834-9190 (ext. 1272) and dolee@calvarymurrieta.com
